Summer 2017 Policies and Procedures

ENROLLMENT

Enrollment for summer classes must be done online, and there is a $30.00 registration fee for new students.  Current students do not have a registration fee, but will be required to pay $10.00 for a parade top.  Enrollment for summer classes may take place at any time, however the summer dance fee will remain the same.

TUITION

Tuition is due before the dancer’s first class of the summer and must be paid in full for the entire six-week session.  Tuition paid after the first class of the summer will receive at $15.00 late fee.  Tuition rates are per class for the entire summer.  Rates are not pro-rated per class attended.  Tuition may be paid by cash, cashiers check or auto-pay. We do not accept personal checks.  There is NO referral discount for summer classes (New referral discounts will start Fall 2017).

REGISTRATION

There is a new student registration fee of $30.00 ($15 for additional family members).This includes an Energy Dance shirt!  As long as you continue dancing at Energy Dance Company with no breaks you will not need to pay this registration fee again.  Current students have NO registration fee for summer classes, but are required to pay $10.00 for a parade top.

MULTIPLE CLASS/FAMILY DISCOUNT

If a dancer enrolls in more that one class, there is a $10.00 discount for each additional class.  For families with multiple children enrolling, there is a $5.00 discount for each additional child.

PARENTS DAY

Since summer classes only run for a six-week period, parents are allowed to watch the first class of the session.  Parents are only allowed to watch this day since students are distracted when there are visitors.

MAKE UP CLASSES

If you miss a class during the summer session, you may attend another class that is offered to your age group.

PARADE

Students enrolled in summer dance classes will get to dance at the Roy Days parade.  Dancers ages 10 and older will get to march and dance in the parade, dancers under 10 years old will get to sit on a float and do arm actions.  There will be an extra practice on Saturday July 29th in preparation for the parade.  Notes will be sent home with details regarding this performance.

TEAMS

Extreme Team members will be required to take 3 hours of dance during the summer.   Additional classes will be $15 each for Extreme Team dancers.

Tiny Team, Junior Teams, and Elite Team members will be required to take 1 hour of dance during the summer.

LOCATION

All dance classes will be held at the Energy Dance Studio at 1151 36th Street in Ogden. We ask that you drop off and pick up your children as near to class times as possible. Please be considerate of teacher’s preparation time and other rehearsals that are going on. Observe traffic flow entering from the southwest side and using the northwest exit. If parking stalls are full, please park across the street.

2016-2017

Dance Season Policies and Procedures

 

ENROLLMENT

A student may enroll in the regular dance season at any time by filling out an online registration form and paying the $30.00 registration fee.  In order to participate in the spring performances all new students must be enrolled on or before January 1st 2017.

Upon enrolling, it is assumed that students will commit to lessons for the entire dance season.

TUITION & FEES

Tuition is due at the first rehearsal of each month. It can by paid by the month or the year. We offer a 10% discount for tuition for the entire dance season paid by September 30th 2016.  Tuition must be paid either through automatic payment or cash payment.  Automatic charges will happen on the 1st of each month.  Cash payments must be placed in the studio tuition box by the 10th of each month. Tuition increases by $15.00 after the 10th of each month. Please put student’s full name, class, payment amount and what payment is for on all cash payments. This will help us keep accurate records. Tuition is based off of 4 rehearsals or performances each month. Tuition will remain the same for the entire 2016-2017 season, it will not be adjusted for extra classes.

There will be other costs to the 2016-2017 dance season, such as registration and recital fees, costume fees, and (competition fees for team). Please know that these fees are required for all performers. We will notify you at least one month prior to each fee being due.

LOYALTY PROGRAM / REFERRAL CREDIT

WE LOVE OUR LOYAL ENERGY DANCE COMPANY FAMILIES!  We have the best families at our studio, and would like to give back to you for being so great to us.  For every NEW student you refer to Energy Dance Company, you will receive a referral discount off your monthly tuition for each month that the new student is enrolled in dance classes.  Referral discounts are good for one full dance season.  In the event that the new student drops out of dance the referral discount will be removed. You credit is based off your number of years with Energy Dance.

0-2 years at Energy Dance Company: Receive $5.00 off your monthly tuition for every new student you refer.

3-4 years at Energy Dance Company: Receive $7.00 off your monthly tuition for every new student you refer.

5+ years at Energy Dance Company: Receive $10.00 off your monthly tuition for every new student you refer.

DANCE ATTIRE

Classes involving dance should wear appropriate dance attire such as leotard, tights, and dance shoes. If a dancer shows up to class without appropriate dance attire (including shoes), he or she will be asked to sit out and take notes, or call a parent to bring appropriate attire. *See class descriptions for appropriate attire for each class.

ATTENDANCE

Because many of our groups are performing groups, a certain level of excellence must be expected from each student. Students should avoid missing rehearsals. We are unable to offer make-up classes or refund tuition for absences. Performance attendance is mandatory. Students cannot be easily replaced during a performing season, and since we limit our class sizes, each student must commit to the entire 2015-2016 season. During performing months such as December, March, April, May and June, rehearsals for the performing groups will be as needed. All other classes will be held those months. Tuition is based on a combined average of 4 rehearsals or performances per month. If additional rehearsals are required, your tuition will not be increased to match the number of rehearsals you attend throughout the month. Please tell an instructor or office manager before taking a student from class.

MAKE UP CLASSES

Your tuition is based off of attending 4 classes each month.  If your class is canceled, or if you miss class for any reason, you are welcome to attend any other classes for your age group as a make-up class.  Please inform the teacher that you are attending a as a make-up class.

PARENT DAY

Parents are invited to watch rehearsal the first lesson of each month. Since students are distracted with people in the studio, we invite parents to come only on parents day and no other time throughout the month.

VIDEO DAY

We will have a scheduled video day prior to each performance. This gives parents and students a chance to record their dance so that they can practice at home in preparation for the performances.

ENERGY DANCE COMPANY HONOR ROLL

We teach our dancers that school comes before dance and other extra-curricular activities.  We would like to reward our dancers for working hard in school by placing them on our “Honor Roll”.  Students can bring in their current report cards, and if they have a 3.5 or higher GPA they will receive a prize and have their name listed on our “Honor Roll” board for the semester.

SUPER SPLIT CLUB

We reward our students for working hard and achieving their goals.  We work on splits and flexibility each week in class.  When students get their splits flat in every direction, we reward them by giving them a prize and putting their name up on a board.

WITHDRAWAL PROCEDURE

We understand that sometimes a student must drop lessons.  If that is the case, the studio owner must be notified in writing 30 days prior to dropping.  Calling or emailing is not sufficient to stop tuition payments.  Tuition charges will continue 30 days after receiving written notice.  If the student is withdrawn past December 1st of the current dance season, the student will still be required to pay his/her costume fees for spring performances.  The student may still keep his/her costume that was paid for as a keepsake although he/she will not be performing.
