There’s a place for every dancer on our Teams.

Prep Team

Prep Team is for dancers ages 3-16 years old. There are three Prep Teams separated by age and ability level.

Prep Team is for dancers with at least one year of dance training. It is designed for dancers who want to be pushed a little harder and would like more of a commitment than our recreational classes, but are not ready for a competitive team.  Prep Team is a “preparation” for Competition Team, in hopes that they will be ready to audition for competition team the following season.

Tuition: $70/month (2 hours a week). Dancers will participate in one hour of Ballet and one hour of Jazz. Additional Classes: Starting at $20/month. Costume & Recital fees will be due throughout the year in addition to this monthly tuition fee.

Performances: Christmas Recital (December 8th), Spring Recital (May or June.. Date TBA)

Tiny Team

Tiny Team is for Preschool and Kindergarten aged dancers that are ready to be introduced to the competition world! Tiny Team gives good exposure into the world of competition dance without overwhelming these young developing dancers.

Tiny Team dancers are committed to their team for one FULL calendar year (June 2018-June 2019). Tiny Team dancers are required to dance 2 hours a week during the Summer Session (Thursday 5-7pm) and two hours a week during the Academic Season (Thursdays 4-6pm). Required classes are 1 hour of competition choreography and 1 hour of dance technique.

Dress Code: During the Summer Session any color is accepted. During the Academic Season Tiny Team dancers are required to wear a black leotard or FITTED black dance clothes to their classes. If dress code is being followed, dancers will be rewarded with a “Free Color Day” at the end of each month. Appropriate dance shoes must always be worn in classes. Their hair should always be pulled back and out of their face.

All Tiny Team performances are mandatory.  Tiny Team will learn and perform an entire team production number to be performed at a Harlem Globetrotters Game and Jazz Game during the fall/winter months. Tiny Team will learn and compete a Jazz routine at three dance competitions during the spring (March, April, May) and will have multiple other performance opportunities in the spring including the Energy Dance Company Spring Recital.

Tiny Team dancers will have team building parties every few months throughout the year, along with a formal team banquet held at the end of the season. There will also be additional practices scheduled during performance months.

  • Summer Session Tuition: $110 for the entire six-week session (2 hours a week)
  • Academic Session Tuition: $70/month (2 hours a week)
  • Monthly Team Fee: $30/month (includes all costume fees, comp fees, etc)

Total: $100/month (August-May) 

Junior Team

Junior Team is a great outlet for dancers that would like to participate in competition dance with minimal time and financial obligations.  Junior Team is for dancers ages 5-16 years old. We have multiple Junior Teams based off of age and ability level, that will be determined at auditions.

Junior Team dancers are committed to their team for one FULL calendar year (June 2018-June 2019). Junior Team dancers are required to dance 2 hours a week during the Summer Session. During the Academic Season, Junior Team dancers will come for 2 hours on either Monday or Tuesday and 2 hours on Thursday (totaling 4 hours a week). Dancers will take one hour of Competition Choreography, one hour of Ballet, one hour of Turns & Leaps, and one hour of Strength & Flexibility.

Dress Code: During the Summer Session any color is accepted. During the Academic Season Junior Team dancers are required to wear a black leotard with pink tights and pink ballet shoes to ballet classes. Dancers are required to wear a black leotard or FITTED black dance attire to all other classes. If dress code is being followed, dancers will be rewarded with a “Free Color Day” at the end of each month. Appropriate Jazz and/or Ballet shoes must always be worn in classes. Their hair should always be pulled back and out of their face.

Extreme Team

Extreme Team is for intermediate and advanced dancers ages 6-18 years that would like to push their dancing to the next level. Extreme Team requires positivity, good sportsmanship, and commitment from each team member. Extreme Team will be divided into multiple teams based on age, ability level, work ethic and performance quality of the dancers.

Extreme Team dancers are committed to their team for one FULL calendar year (June 2018-June 2019). Extreme Team dancers are required to dance 4 hours a week during the Summer Session and 6 hours a week during the Academic Season. During the Academic Season, Extreme Team dancers will come for 3 hours on either Monday or Tuesday and 3 hours on Thursday (totaling 6 hours a week). Dancers will take three hours of Competition Choreography, one hour of Ballet, one hour of Turns & Leaps, and one hour of Strength & Flexibility.

Premiere Team

Premiere Team is for advanced dancers age 8-18 years old looking to take their technique to the next level of competition. Premiere Team requires the upmost positivity, good sportsmanship, and commitment from each team member. This year, Premiere Team could possibly be divided into multiple teams depending on the ages and ability levels of the dancers that audition. Dancers that audition for Premiere Team, but do not get a placement will be moved onto Extreme Team. 

Premiere Team dancers are committed to their team for one FULL calendar year (June 2018-June 2019). During the Summer Session Premiere Team will dance six hours a week on two different days. During the Academic session Premiere Team will dance three days a week for three hours each day totaling nine hours a week on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays from 6-9pm.

Dress Code: During the Summer Session any color is accepted. During the Academic Season Premiere Team dancers are required to wear a black leotard with pink tights and pink ballet shoes to ballet classes. Dancers are required to wear a black leotard or FITTED black dance attire to all other classes. If dress code is being followed, dancers will be rewarded with a “Free Color Day” at the end of each month.   Appropriate Jazz and/or Ballet shoes must always be worn in classes. Their hair should always be pulled back and out of their face.

All Premiere Team performances are mandatory. Premiere Team will learn and perform an entire team production number to be performed at a Harlem Globetrotters Game and Jazz Game during the fall/winter months. PremiereTeam will learn and compete Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip Hop routines at three dance competitions during the spring (March, April, May) and will have multiple other performance opportunities in the spring including the Energy dance company Spring Recital.

Premiere Team Dancers will have the opportunity to participate in an additional competition Character Routine.  This additional routine is open to any competition dancer that would like to participate in an additional routine this year. We will also offer additional classes designed specifically for our team dancers. These additional classes are each $15 a month with additional costume fees (+competition fees for Character Routine).

Boys Crew

Boys Crew is for dancers ages 6-16 years old that would like to get the competition team experience! Boys Crew is a positive and fun environment that teaches boys teamwork, dedication, and commitment in a team setting. 

Boys Crew dancers are committed to their team for one FULL calendar year (June 2018-June 2019). Boys Crew dancers are required to dance 1 hour a week during the Summer Session (Tuesday 7-8pm) and two hours a week during the Academic Season (Wednesday 6-8pm). Required classes are 1 hour of competition choreography and 1 hour of Hip Hop tricks and technique.

Dress Code: During the Summer Session any color is accepted. During the Academic Season Boys Crew dancers are required to wear all black dance clothes to their classes. If dress code is being followed, dancers will be rewarded with a “Free Color Day” at the end of each month. Appropriate Hip Hop shoes must always be worn in classes.

All Boys Crew performances are mandatory.  Boys Crew will learn and perform an entire team production number to be performed at a Harlem Globetrotters Game and Jazz Game during the fall/winter months. Boys Crew will learn and compete a Jazz routine at three dance competitions during the spring (March, April, May) and will have multiple other performance opportunities in the spring including the Energy Dance Company Spring Recital.

Our Teachers

Chalee Rawlings
Owner and Studio Director

Chalee Rawlings

Chalee Rawlings has one main goal as a dance teacher, it is to instill a love of dance into all who enter the studio. She consistently strives to teach her dancers to encourage each other as they freely express who they are through the art of dance. Chalee focuses on unity at the studio and creates an atmosphere of fun, safe learning for every student that walks through the door.

Kyly Saunders
Competition Director

Kyly Saunders

Kyly Saunders has the remarkable ability to balance teaching and allowing the children to explore their personal expressionism. She has developed exceptional teaching skills throughout her career and continues to evolve and grow. Her goal as a teacher at the studio is for every dancer to develop a personal love for dance.

Christon Chritchlow-Eastman

Christon Chritchlow-Eastman is one of our most talented choreographers. She has won awards in judge’s choice, overall, and best choreography. Christon would like to one day travel the world and choreograph for companies and soloists. Her goal as a dance teacher is to help dancers in their journey of building self-confidence and reaching their goals.
